Getting started

It is sunday in Hamburg, sky is grey, nothing left of yesterdays summer feeling... that is not to bad, because it gives me time to start my blog, which means preparing for my trip to the americas.
cathrinandtheamericas, that will be, where you can find me from April on.
I know, that by the end of the month I will leave Hamburg, but I feel I still do not understand...
I am looking forward to travelling, but leaving Hamburg behind will not be that easy, that is for sure. More than 7 years I have been living here, studying and working. But more important, getting to know Hamburg, learning to love living in a city - coming from a small, small village I did not believed I could ever live in a city at all - meeting people, enjoying Hamburgs's day and night life, but most important: making friends!
Things might change, when I am not there, that is life: living means changing ("Stillstand ist der Tod" as H. Groenemeyer put it, a German singer and songwriter), this means that things will not be the same, when I come back, but that does not matter! I know, that whilst things change, friendship will last, and even not meeting for days, weeks, months or years, friends will be close - always!
Thanks to all the people I met in Hamburg, I learned a lot with you! Special thanks to my friends - I am full of hope, staying in touch with you.
